MOT Type 1 Sub Base is a multi-purpose building aggregate comprised mainly of crushed limestone and concrete. It contains a mix of particle sizes from 40mm down to dust, which allows the aggregate to tightly bind together when compacted. This makes it the material of choice to create a strong, lasting sub base for building on. We recommend using a 100mm depth of MOT type 1 for patios and other areas with light foot traffic, and a depth of 150mm for driveways. The best way to compact the aggregate is using a wacker plate, which will result in an extremely firm, level surface, although hand tamping can suffice for smaller projects.

Our MOT Type 1 complies with the Department of Transport Specification, so it is permitted for use in the construction of roads. It also serves perfectly for creating patios, driveways and other sub bases where durability is required. We source our MOT from local quarries, and perform routine checks on new loads to ensure a consistently high quality. It is available in bulk bags that weigh approximately 850kg, handy bags of about 20kg, and as loose loads.

Deliveries take place Monday to Saturday, usually between 7am to 5pm.

We also offer a premium Hiab delivery service for addresses in and around Greater Manchester. Your goods will be offloaded roadside by one of our own crane trucks which allows us to place products over small fences directly into gardens. The cost of Premium Delivery starts at £12.50, depending on whereabouts in the country you are situated. When you place your order online the delivery charge will be added to your basket at the checkout once you have entered the delivery address.

Returns and Cancellations:
We are happy to refund or exchange as long as the product is as sold and in its original packaging. Customers are responsible for all delivery charges.
