To find out how many tiles or paving slabs you need for your project, you will first need to work out the area you are covering.
Follow these steps to calculate the area of the space you wish to pave:
Example: if your patio will be 6 metres long and 4 metres wide, the area is 24m2.
If the space has an unusual shape, split it into squares and rectangles and measure the area of each section separately, then add all measurements together to calculate the total area.
For example, an L-shaped patio can be divided into two rectangles. If one rectangle measures 6m x 4m (24m2 area) and the other rectangle measures 2m x 2m (4m2 area), the total area is 28m2 and this is the number you should enter when you are ordering.
